User Sense

Whitelisting User Sense

Are you working from a corporate network or laptop with strict firewall settings? Then the connection to User Sense may be blocked, resulting in for example a white screen instead of video. In that case, your IT department can whitelist User Sense. On this page you'll find the instructions you can forward.

When is whitelisting needed?

User Sense uses WebRTC within its tools. On corporate networks, this traffic is sometimes blocked by the firewall, preventing the session from starting correctly. Common signs are:

  • A white screen where the participant's or moderator's video should appear
  • The session does not load or drops immediately

First, try bypassing the corporate network by using a home network or mobile hotspot, and disable any active VPNs. If this does not work or switching networks is not an option, forward the instructions below to the IT department.

Instructions for IT

User Sense uses WebRTC within its tools. It is therefore important that the following data can be sent free of blockades.

Website/Tool

  • IP addresses: 5.79.102.228 and 2001:1af8:4700:a09a:2::1
  • Ports: TCP 80 and 443

Streaming services

  • IP addresses: 5.79.102.228 and 2001:1af8:4700:a09a:2::1
  • Runs normally via UDP (sometimes TCP) and should not be filtered out. The same goes for ICE-trickle requests.

STUN/TURN

  • IP addresses: 135.181.147.214 and 2a01:4f9:c011:9435::1
  • Ports: UDP and TCP 80, 443, 3478 and 5349
